Boyfriend's course beard hurting delicate skin

So, I've never had perfect skin but it had been much better until I started dating someone who has very course facial hair. I went to the Art of Shaving and bought him the preshave oil, and the shaving cream, and the badger brush, and the after shave cream and it still seems impossible for him to get a clean shave. So, I started looking online for other options and found a depilatory (Magic Shaving Powder) that black men (he's white- fair skin) use for their faces that helps with ingrown hairs. We tried the strongest solution on his hair and nothing happened! His hair is tough... mutant hair I say! I was very disappointed.

So now, I've convinced him to grow a beard and see if that helps. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to make the hair soft on the enRAB? So far, pretty much everywhere that his face goes I get a zit and they are starting to accumulate... No fun!

Also, I know that everyone online says to absolutely not ever wax a beard but no one has given a good explanation of why. My imagination may suffice but I'm wondering if anyone knows from experience.

Thanks!

I'd say wax it...lol.....I'd do it...but I am also crazy with waxing...I do my "area".... eyebrows....legs...basically anywhere with hair...if his face hair is very tough, his skin prob. is underneath ..if I can wax my ...ahem ..."area"...(which is super sensitive!) ....I don't see why not a man's face!;)

Is there anyone else out there with the same problem? My boyfriend went to the dermatologist and he said that it is rare for someone to break out from someone else's facial hair. Is it?

Do you guys have any idea what could be going on. Pretty much anywhere that he kisses me (chest, back, neck, face) I get a zit... places that I don't usually get zits. He doesn't even have to kiss me long and he could be shaven (not totally smooth but close). Just a peck will do it! Erg!

I've had this problem before with other guys but not nearly as bad. So, what is the solution... only date guys with no facial hair. Wow, is that going to be difficult! I'm already picky enough!
