If he doesn't want to hold hands infornt of his friends then thats fine. My bf doesn't either and I think with every couple they act differently around other people than when they are alone. I'm not sure about the eye contact part that sounds a bit bizarre. However, if he NEVER holds hands or NEVER makes eye contact then maybe you should talk to him about it. Especially the eye contact part. Holding hands isn't an essential part of relationships, yet I think eye contact would be...
