Boyfriend had sex with friend...please read?

I just found out that my boyfriend had sex with a "friend" (guess you can say that because we no longer have problems). We had problems in the past. This was before me and him started getting serious, but we've been dating 2 years and he just spilled the beans. We've been fighting for a while. my friend said she was going over the girls house and i wanted to go with her and i told him. and then he says "what if i said i fu**ked her". and then he tried to say he didnt after i started getting mad and just wanted to see how i would act. i couldnt beleive he asked me tht question. was he trying to break up with me or something? im confused? right now things are real rocky between us....=/
