...sales tax? Hi - I bought a car ($20,000) in CT in March 2010 as a CT resident and paid the difference in sales tax ($300) from my trade in value ($15,000) from which I had already paid sales tax. I just moved to MA last week and want to get a license and register my car with my new address. From reading the MA RMV website it says that any new vehicle purchased within the past 6 months, I will have to make up the difference in the sales tax of 6% CT vs 6.25% MA. Question is, will I have to pay the additional .25% on the $350 sales tax I paid in CT for the difference of my trade-in ($5,000) or pay the full 6.25% on the $20,000? OUCH! Thanks!
