i just bought a 1986 Mercedes benz 190e and it is really in bad condition. anyways i bought it off this dude who bought it off the Original owner a few months earlier. the dude i bought it off from said there was too much problem's with the car and just wanted to get rid of it. anyways he didn't have a title cuz he said he also didn't get one from the first owner. so we wrote up a bill of sale. after that i tried to register it at CA dmv. and they started the Application for transfer. but i need for the dude i bought it from to sign a "statement of facts" before they can fully transfer the car over to my name. anyways i can't get ahold of the dude i bought it from, cuz i lost his number and all i have from him is his name. is there any way around this or what can i do?
