My Boston Terrier is literally obsessed with flash lights. It goes beyond the normal playful way that some dogs are with them. She actually drools excessively, like big puddles, and starts shaking and her eyes bulge out. Sometimes she even slams her mouth against the floor or wall, trying to bite the light, until she makes her mouth bleed. Even after the light is gone, she still looks for it and licks and wall or floor for like ten minutes. Other than this, she is a very sweet, calm dog. I have no idea what's up with her!
Anyone have similar experiences or suggestions of why she's doing this?
And to respond to some of the answers, no I do not tease her with it! I try very hard never to use a flashlight, only in emergencies. She does it with other items too, though, like a shiny watch that catches the sun and makes a light on the wall, etc.
