somedays i wake up hoping that i was given the opportunity to live life like the old warriors did back in the old days. i always felt at one with the stories the old bushido books talked about like i was there. its kinda weird i kno, but have u felt like u were born to live like a warrior?
i mean ofcourse there are the inate instincts we humans are genetically born with which gives us those methods of survival. wat im talking about is on different plane i mean
-the anticipation of a battle
-the training before the battle
-the struggle and triumph over your fears
-the enjoyment of pain and self sacrifice
-the search for spiritual enlightenment throught the arts
it just seems like i was born to be something more than a martial arts practitionor or MMA fighter
ur words are valued but some of u guys make yahoo answers suck with ur sarcastic babble. maybe ima dreamer but atleast i havent lost mine. u fake martial artist forget the "art" in martial art. its really depressing

Young man you are suffering from youth

Don't worry it will be cured by time.

Firstly you need to work your written English
Secondly you need to stop day dreaming and work on you written English
Thirdly you lack discipline I mean you went to school and you couldn't even learn to write.

Sorry, I am being mean

I wish you well with you quest to slay dragons.
If that does not happen I am sure you will end up shooting a high powered rifle at passing cars when the "something more than a martial arts practitioner" does not come to pass.

Sorry Bro, just yanking you chain
It's great to be passionate about something I wish you well.

yeah this is 2010. if we want satisfaction we go buy it. if we want struggle we go to work. if we want spiritual enlightenment we take magic mushrooms.

i agree with you it would be cool to live in those days, where purpose was given in war, and the days of peace were never taken for granted. its just not the same now though.

Yeah, it's called a dreamer.

"-the anticipation of a battle
-the training before the battle
-the struggle and triumph over your fears" OK I can see this, sort of, but this is where the fun part stops

"-the enjoyment of pain and self sacrifice" ...you never got hurt really bad did you? Maybe you would like to check reality and see what happens to a body when a person dies. It's quite gross. The stench alone when all the muscles relax and relieve the body of any waste will make you sick. Add to this the mutilations and blood and I am willing to bet you will pass out.
Think you can stay composed when your buddies you trained with die next to you? I would imagine that this would be a hard thing. Soldiers who return from war after active duty are never again the same. The sacrifice they have made even when they survive is one I will never be able to even imagine and I am grateful to those who are willing to make this kind of sacrifice for mine and your freedom. So get your head out of the clouds and thank a vet and if you still feel like you want to make a self sacrifice join the army.
But remember, there is NEVER spiritual enlightenment in death.

first off: Dave123 youre a dooshe. If you knew you were being mean, why continue submitting it?

and answer to this question is, i think different upbringings and lives forge our interests and beliefs and you have had one that causes you to wish to live as a warrior or something greater. i understand it. so, no one is born a soul combatant, but many are raised through life in such a way they become one, and i feel you may be one, good for you, persue it, join an MMA gym maybe, and when youre older, you should consider the marines or something, where you are personally taught hand to hand combat, fight in the wars of today and help the cause to bring peace, for you yourself wont take times of peace for granted, as you know the intense struggle to reach it. you can then be a warrior of one of the many of multiple generations of warriors. and one of the most dangerous times to be a warrior, you will hold one of the highest honors. good day :)
