Isn't it just a tool to help the average user dual boot their macs? I keep reading forums where people seem to be referring to Boot Camp like it's some kind of program or a virtualization utility.

Example:
Question: "How can I play PC games on my mac?"
Answer: "Use Boot Camp, it's better than Parallels"

But... Boot Camp is nothing like Parallels at all. Parallels is just like VirtualBox, VMWare, Virtual PC, etc. And it's not like Wine... it's nothing. If it was a PC it would basically be a utility that sets the BIOS to boot of the CD so you don't have to do think about it, then after installation, you put in your "drivers installation disc."

So, is there something I'm missing here? Or are there just thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of people with little to no computer knowledge acting like they're computer geniuses because they've managed to dual boot their Mac?
