Boost mobile download error?

i have the unlimited plan with is $50 a month... i was trying to purchase a ringtone from website, it send me a text and i clicked on buynow and took me to a page that says " PURCHASE ERROR. Your purchase has exceeded your account balance. Please add funds to your account to continue and Re-boost" why does that happen
