Boost a 3.1L V6 (8.8:1 CR) to around 5 psi?

I've got a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 with a 3.1L V6. I was checking out the engine specs onlne and noticed that the compression ratio is quite low (compared to other cars I've driven). It's only 8.8:1 (compared to 10.1:1 in the last car i drove). I know that the lower compression ratio allows for slightly safer turbocharging. I don't want too much boost (engine has ~195,500 mi, but w/ new head gasket). I was thinking of around 5 psi, maybe a little less. Any suggestions on what model I should use?

** The '94 Z24 has two rear facing hood scoops (and they ARE the actual intake for the engine. Would this present any poblem with installing a turbo?

Thanks!
