Books to read for SATS..sitting in january?

Hey everyone, I'm sitting for my SATS on the 23rd of january. My writing skills are very good but the topics are a little abstract and philosophical, I'm not very use to them and you have to write with example from history. Most people read books, can you recommend any good books?and other tips?thanks
