ok what I mean by visual souls is that people souls are on the outsides of their bodies and can been seen
like in the His Dark Materials trilogy (The Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass)
though it doesn't have to be animal forms, it could be just like auras or something
