If the book is in the public domain, try gutenberg.org or google the title. If the book is still protected by copyright law, your only option is the library (if you want it free). Any "free" copy of any book still protected by copyright that has not been authorized to be made available by the author as a "freebie" is bound to be a pirated copy, irrespective of source. It is illegal to make any book available in electronic formats, for free, without the author's permission.
