Books in Simpsons

Marge was such a terrible writer that I doubt I would buy that book for real, but being a big Simpsons fan I would probably check it out from the library. I would definitely be more tempted if they made the book visually interesting with images and good design. I'm not sure what you mean by a guide with background information though. Can you elaborate there?

This is a very interesting thesis topic! We've been talking about this recently in the Gossip Girl fandom as well; one of the characters has a book coming out. For the show Supernatural, they published John Winchester's "journal" a couple years ago but it was kind of ugly and if I recall there were some plot points that clashed with the show. I would've bought it if they'd done a better job. That's usually the problem with these things; they usually just aren't well-written or well-planned.

I will probably have additional thoughts on this topic, but those were my initial ones. :)

Hello,
I am writing my Bachelor paper on fictitious books in films that were made into real products. For example "The Bro Code" from How I met your Mother or the books by (Richard) Castle.
Now I am trying to find out if fans would read more of these books if they were produced.
As you might know, in Simpsons do also appear some fictitious books:
- the Angelica Button Books by Lisa and her friend
- The Harpooned Heart 1+2 by Marge Simpson
(full list here: List of fictional books from non-print media - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Now would you buy these books if they were actually published? Especially the ones by the characters? What should the publishing houses do with them if they made them into real books? Like extras or doodles from the characters? Or would you rather prefer some sort of guide with background information?

Thanks in advance!
