This is my essay and my title is Two Main Ingredients of Life- Relationships and Culture. please check if it sounds good and it smooth and any sentence fragments; thanks

The Namesake, a novel by Jhumpa Lahiri; involves culture and relationships. Every character has his or her own beliefs to live a life. A Bengali couple who emigrate to the United States to form a life outside of everything they are accustomed to; from Calcutta, India. In the book, Lahiri described to the reader what it must have felt like to come from a different country to America during the 1960's. As The Namesake opens, Ashima Ganguli, a young bride awaiting to deliver her first child, reflects her time in India. In the United States, Ashima struggles to learn a new language and culture. Her fear of being an outsider is becoming a reality. The Gogol/Nikhil had his name issue as the story continues further. Although, he doesn’t deny his culture, his desire to fit in as an American is becoming realistic. This step made his relationship a bit apart from his conservative parents.

Every relationship is like a rope containing knots that can add to complications in the movement of life. For example, Gogol’s father; Ashoke expected his son to be much more like him, dedicated to his work, honesty, and one thing that relates to his father. There is a scene in the story where Ashoke tells Gogol to read books of his favorite author, but Gogol didn’t agree and that led his father in a few minutes of silence mode. Ashoke’s only dream was that he wanted his children’s to respect him and listen him, but unfortunately Gogol was opposite. When Ashoke dies, Gogol encounters his father’s importance in his life and cries every moment remembering when he misbehaved his father. This led him to take a one positive step further, which was to read the books; once his father told him to read.
