Bolt came loose

Sorry, but I had an issue with a bolt coming loose on my Harley, and showing no signs of loctite, so I posted a note about it on a Harley specific forum. Makes sense to me.

Yes, I check my tire pressure. It hasn't come loose yet.

Rob,
I think he's just trying to point out, $HIT HAPPENS! It's a vibrating machine, stuff loosens up and falls off. It's your job to keep the stuff on. If this is the only thing you ever have loosen up be thankful. Not sure how long you been ridin' HD but this is one of those things we all take for granted, stuff will loosen up. I just lost a bolt on my Jeep side rails the other day, but like I said, $hit happens.

Soooooo, are you braggin' or whining? Fact is, we really don't care. Oh yeah, like nothing ever goes wrong with a GW! Hell, the very second a person gets on one, things go wrong, for instance, it immediately makes you look like a GW rider, trust me, that's not good.

I recently added the bag guards to my bike and some of the nuts are of the one use only locking variety (I forget the term). I used Loctite blue on all except for those.

not to hijack the thread but. my wife has a honda moped and the bolts holding the center stand came loose. i'm really nervous about it now. what should i do?

I'm on my 12 Harley in 35 years of riding them. Never worried about recalls. Haven't had that many. I love the shake. Part of the heritage. Don't mind using a little loctite here and there. I can at least get to stuff to work on it. I don't have to, but I would rather push my Harley than ride a rice burner. Saw a Thread on here showing how the Japanese loves Harley better than goldwings, so what does that say about Americans that ride them??????
