i am not indian but my friend is and he brought me to go and watch my first bollywood movie called "Devdas". Thank god the movie had subtitles. I have to say i now love bollywood, "Devdas" is simply the most fantastic experince ever god. I have to say the movie is long about 3 hours but its well worth it even though about 5 minutes of it is boring but all the dancing and acting is sooooo cool i now wish i was indian, lol. The sets in the film was out of this film are out of this world. Its good that this film has good sets because this is the most expensive bollywood movie ever. I have to say this movie is not all dancing because the actors in this movie r fantastic the acting is even better then hollywood. But for those people who r worried about the length of the film well dont worry in bollywood movies there have an interval just like football has a half time and its 11 minutes long so u can go toilet and the rest of it.

I too was tempted into watching a bollywood film about 3 years ago, and since have seen about 3 or 4 more. I do not share your enthusiasm though-all films were more or less exactly the same (lavish sets/hunky hero/gorgeous heroine/very bad villan)

My friend tells me that there are only about 20 actors/actresses in the industry that monopolise all the films so its very difficult for anyone else to break into movies. (and there are about 1100 films made there every year. Tiring work - if you can get it.
