FOX's latest attempt to launch a new animated series from someone not named Groening or MacFarlane airs tonight at 8:30 PM Eastern. Coming from Loren Bouchard(Home Movies, Lucy: Daughter of the Devil), the show is about a family and their burger joint. Will it become successful and long-running like King of the Hill, or will it go the way of Sit Down, Shut Up? Time will tell. Here is the synopsis:

I wish for once they do a show about single people with no kids. Come on it is getting old. That being said what's done is done, we will see if this is any good.

But come on FOX, do something different for once.

I'm not really sure about this show, doesn't really look like it brings anything new to the table, but i'm willing to give it a try..probably watch it off the DVR later in the week though, since I Plan to watch Capes tonight.

Based on previews and clips, the show doesn't seem that funny. But I like to give everything a chance so I'll watch it and then make my judgement on whether it was good or not.

As much as I hate saying it, this show was doomed from the start (at least on FOX). Given the early reviews, the critics are going to be unkind with it and the ratings will hit that magic level where FOX wants nothing to do with it short of running it in the Saturday late-night dump slot. Hopefully Adult Swim or Comedy Central will be around to pick up the pieces and give it a good home.

Well, at least we have the return of American Dad to look forward to. The show always seems to succeed in spite of Fox's desire to cancel it.

Except Archer went to FX, and that show would have be an even better fit for Adult Swim.

I don't think you can judge a Jon Benjamin show by clips, which is all I've seen of this show. His comedy is a lot about silences and set-up, so I'm not judging until I've seen the whole thing.

That was distinctly less mediocre than I expected it to be. A bit bland, but some scenes (like the pep talk in the opening and, well, pretty much all of the stuff with the kids - they're SO realistically dumb, it's fantastic) had me rolling, so, yeah. I'll be watching.

Definitely doomed. It'll be lucky to last a full season.

It probably won't get the chance to gain an audience considering how other non-MacFarlane shows have fared on the block.

For a premiere episode, it was better than expected, though. So I hope it does get a chance.

Much better then I expected. This is one of those shows though, unlike the other Animation Domination shows that are going to need the kids featured in every episode to be funny. Bob isn't funny alone as far as I can tell. He's funny when he's playing off the stupidity of his kids.
