If the RSV4 or S1000RR starts seriously scaring the crap out of the the factory WSBK team, then you'll see a push to develop a new type of engine.

The desmo twin is Ducati. It won't fall by the wayside at the drop of a hat.
 
I'm usually not one to get into this kind of a debate but REALLY?! Come on, it's not WWII anymore! It doesn't have the same meaning it once did, it's simply short for something like calling a Ducati a Duc. Plain and simple. It's not like we are calling anyone a yank or a kraut.
 
It might be interesting to note that the Jap(anese) school system STILL doesn't teach the students what really happened during the war. They know nothing of the atrocities that their fathers and grandfathers committed against prisoners of war and the Chinese and Korean population. They aren't told about the army's use of enslaved Korean women as concubines for the troops. There was never an official apology made until quite recently, and IT wasn't very heartfelt, in my personal opinion. Some things are just so heinous that they are not forgivable.
