I would be too.I saw videos of them playing Colchester recently and their just as good as they were, aged hasn't slowed them down at all. Especially Graham who's even better at the guitar then he was 10 years ago (as you'd expect him to be) and Damon is still jumping around the stage which is nice to see.

Blur going on without Graham is like The Smiths going on without Johnny Marr. And Crazy Beat suffers from a tendency that some Blur songs have, an annoying cheesy chorus. 'Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah', like that of Charmless Man 'he went Na Na Na Na Na Na' come Damon you can do better.

As for Girls & Boys here's a video of them playing it recently to prove my point that they still sound great.

bump.

so, coxon and albarn got on stage together at the nme awarRAB for the first time in 9 years and performed This Is A Low. Excellent choice of song, shows a mature direction (as they would have to take at this point) but still doesn't give too much away about what new form they'll be taking.

I've only seen shaky cameraphone footage from the event, and I've already prerecorded the awarRAB show just for that moment. I don't care what Bernard Butler says, the reformation of Blur will not simply be dragging britpop out... Blur were so much more than that.

yeah that reunion was fast work wasn't it? Years of on/off speculation and within a few days of the news, a banner for a Hyde Park extravaganza pops up on my Last.fm. I'm only bitter because i'm far too scared of malevolent, psychopathic, flesh eating crowRAB that all want me dead to go

and i wouldn't bother Kenny they'll do a new album and at least a US pit-stop...

And in response to Country House being their best song that's very nice but Chemical World rOcKz harder

I have a soft spot for Blur. I think my favourite is THE GREAT ESCAPE. As urban says it's PARKLIFE part 2 but apart from the deplorable COUNTRY HOUSE, there is a lot of good stuff on there. Kudos to Albarn for trying something different with each new project. I have'nt heard MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH for years!

I pray that they come to America and a Blur and a new Gorillaz album would just be the greatest thing ever, they can properly pick up where 13 left off. And I completely agree about Chemical World, that's why youre my fav user on here.

Think Tank still stand as the best Blur album in my eyes, I see it a good thing that Coxon left as to me, he only appeared to be restricting the banRAB boundaries. Blur is about Damon for me, not Coxon.

I think to characterise Blur by their heyday would be gigantic steps back... Blur were most popular when they were 'Parklife', but they've created much braver music since then. It's pretty ignorant to think of them as a 'Britpop cash in' as Bernard Butler did.

Honestly, I'd go with the greatest hits collection as well.

It's definitely one of those rare collections that does indeed serve its purpose of being the perfect starting point for newcomers.

I'm not sure about a new album, they seemed to be pretty focused around just touring now. But Albarn has always been restless when it comes to musical projects, so I can't imagine him wanting to simply rest on the old material.

And their self titled ranks pretty high with me aswell. I'd personally have to say

1. Modern Life Is Rubbish
2. Think Tank
3. Blur
4. Parklife
5. 13
6. Great Escape

I know Think Tank is pretty controversial... but what ygonna do.
