Bluetooth stereo - Not just for N73 (Blueplayer)

As a lot of us know, MSI Blueplayer allows to force a type of stereo bluetooth stream which only works on I.Tech and MSI bluetooth headsets.

However for S60v3, only the N73 is advertised as supported. I looked in a lot of forums (including here) and could only find people ASKING if it worked on other S60v3 devices (especially the E61) and there were no answers.

Well, out of money spending habits, I bought the I.Tech R35 and tried the blueplayer software on my E61.

Im happy to announce I get great stereo sound quality.

However, I had to reduce the bitrate of my MP3 files to 96kbps. I dont know if it's the phone's weak CPU or the fact that it's bluetooth 1.2 (slower than N73's 2.0 bluetooth), but higher than 96kbps will cause skipping. THe higher the kbps, the more skipping will occur.

The sound quality on the i.tech R35 is quite good. Get yourself some nice little in-ear earphones to get maximum bass/treble effect without asking too much from the bluetooth dongle.

A WELL MADE 96kbps conversion can be quite good. The nokia phones aren't high-end enough to make much a difference between 96kbps and 192kbps even on wired headphones.

However, after more use, I noticed I can stream any bitrate, but only if I delete the bluetooth pairing on my phone DURING playback. The Blueplayer will automatically re-ask for the pairing code (8888) and then the streaming will resume, but without skipping.

Strange thing, that means it's not a bitrate issue. However lower bitrates seem to decrease the bug effect.

96kbs must sound like cell phone call quality :| I guess theoretically you could use your land line and put it up to your stereo's speakers and call your cell phone... :|

I can most definitely tell the difference between 96kbps and 192kbps when my N73 is hooked up to my stereo in my car or in my house. This seems like a nice workaround, but I'm still holding out for A2DP on the N95 or other device that comes out with it.

1) How do you hook up your N73 to your car stereo...

2) How do you use bluetooth headsets or earpieces for stero sound? Someone shed some light..id like to put my n73 to use

1. I bought the Nokia attachment (AD-15) that turns the bottom port into a 3.5mm jack.

Then, if your car stereo has an audio out or auxiliary port, you're all set.

2. As we've been discussing, MSI Blueplayer transmits stereo sound, but only to specific headsets, as described in the first post. Read the whole thread and Google a bit.

Same issues with an i-Tech R35 and a Nokia E61i. Either MSI needs to fix the BluePlayer software or somebody else needs to make a software like the Softick Audio Gateway on Palms to enable pseudo-A2DP support for all headsets!
