i'm going to blue lake this wednesday and im really excited but kind of nervous too. just a few random questions:
1. how many orchestras are there?
2. for the auditions do you have to do a bit of a piece you're learning?
3. what are the showers like?
4. how short can the shorts be?
any other tips? thanks!
also do you really have to wash ur own underwear? cuz i had a friend who went and she said they didnt have too. thanks!

haha good times

1. There are four orchestras last time I remember... its been awhile. I was in symphony orchestra, but im pretty sure there were three others.
2. No, you just have to sight read and play a few scales. Don't be nervous, and note that if you play a popular instrument, you might have to play infront of as many as six judges. Just do your best.
3. Showers aren't exactly luxury, but not terrible. I suggest you wear flipflops in the shower and bring a waterproof bag to hold your stuff.
4.They are total tyrants about uniform, but shorts can be as short as you can tell that they're still shorts. No butt shorts or micros allowed.

Other tips: the water smells like eggs outside the cafeteria, dont drink it. Buy glaciers from the snack shop, they're delicious. Dont worry about finding a date for the dance, the dance is totally overrated and more fun with friends (I would know). Beware of drama. No matter what, you'll find a good friend. Oh and have fun! :)
