Blue book car value vs real market value?

I am planning to sell my car which has the following blue book values using good or fair condition:

Trade-in:
Fair = $2000
Good = $2200

Private party:
Fair = $4000
Good = $4300

The car is 1997 Toyota Rav4 "L" version, 4 doors, and no accidents. Both inside and outside are maintained very well with very little or no flaw. I really think the car belongs to good condition. When I took the car to car dealers he thinks it's less than $1000 trade-in and up to $2000 to private party.
This is in Los Angeles, is there a way I can know the estimate value of the car so I can sell it myself within a reasonable amount and time.

Also, what do I need to do when I sell the car? I need to do smog check, sign release liability and title transfer; anything else?

Thanks in advance for answers.
