Can anyone give me some advice on this subject:
I am shortly going to visit eastern Siberia. I have purchased ( on advice) an emergency medical kit. The kit contains a leaflet with an explanation to the receiver regarding the identity of the owner and asks some medical details to be filled in, including owners blood type.
I asked my GP for the information but I was surprised to find that they had no record of my blood type. They advised me to donate blood and ask the type of the blood transfusion service.
I cannot give blood because i take Leveothyroxin.
I then went onto the NHS website where, to my dismay, i was advised to do as the GP had suggested.
I thought that with the freedom of information situation this would not be a problem and I am very shocked that I cannot find out such a basic peice of information.
Can anyone give me any information or have had a similiar experience ?
Many Thanks. Noel Fennell
