Blood Tests

The most common tests detect things which indicate common problems or risks, such as:

Blood cholesterol levels -- indicator of risk of heart disease.
Blood sugar -- indicate diabetes or risk of diabetes.

For both of the above, the blood test is done after an overnight fast.

Doctors check the patient by their symptoms. The vital signs describe the story of a patient. Like wise,
Blood tests have some mathematics. The proportion of various particles like Red or White blood cells and others give the doctor a true picture of body health.

i just had a complete blood work up and that also included the liver function..which they called and told me 2 liver enzymes were slightly elevated. The ast was 34 and the alt was 67...so today i went and had an ultra sound of liver, gallbladder, pancreas and kidneys.. Usually if your blood work all comes back normal i'd say you were in good shape...
