I had blood tests done two months ago. I went to GP's surgery today and was informed the blood tests needs to be repeated. However, no one told me until today when I enquired about them. If blood tests need to be repeated, I thought it was the GP's responsibility to inform the patient. Is this right or is it the patient's responsibility to find out.

If they need to be repeated because of the condition you are going for today, then they had no way to know to repeat them until you showed up. If they need to be repeated because the first ones were wrong or showed something out of line, then that's different. However, your post does not say "why" they need repeating. What did they say when you asked?

Thank you for your reply. The receptionist did not tell me why the tests needed to be repeated. However, I returned to surgery today and was told by a different receptionist that my LH (luteinising hormone) was up.
In addition to repeating FSH and LH tests, GP has also requested the following tests: Prolactin, UE - Electrolytes, LFT - Liver Function, LIP - Fasting Lipids, Cholesterol, GHB - Glycated Hb (EDTA), GS - Glucose, TFT1, FBC - Blood Count.
I would have thought that it was the surgery's responsibility to contact me to let me know these tests needed to be done shortly after I had the original blood tests done two months ago?

Yes. Up until 1-2 years ago I was healthy. I then developed asthma. I now get pins & needles, numbness, burning sensations and pains in arms and legs, rapid heart beat (often woken up by it), breast discharge, hair falling out etc. I have had many blood tests done over the past 1-2 years but all have been normal. That is until they tested LH. I don't know whether the above symptoms could be related to this.
