...toxemia/pre-eclampsia...? I had my 2nd OB checkup last night. The nurse and the Dr made comment of my blood pressure and I am wondering if I am showing 'at risk' signs of toxemia.
Non-pregnant my blood pressure has ALWAYS been 120/80 (used to be considered normal but current guidelines now call this 'pre-hypertension). In my first pregancy I dropped to a consistent 110/70... Not bad... In my last 3 weeks I gained 5 lbs per week and they were concerned however, even with BP checks I stayed 110/70.
This pregnancy has been odd... I dropped to a 100/60 and stayed there over 3 weeks worth of checks. I haven't had my BP checked since 9 weeks, then last night my BP was 127/72... This is the BP that caused mention of 'slightly high' from both the nurse AND the Dr.
Now it doesn't seem 'too high' but I am only 13 weeks along and already having a 27/10 point increase in only a month... Does anyone more familiar with BP and pregnancy (on a medical standpoint) have any insight?!
I am nervous because this pregnancy just "doesn't feel right" in general. Sounds weird but I have kept my mouth shut to most people about these feelings so as to not come off wrong... I am happy but not excited...
