Blood in urine

Hi, I'm new here. This concerns a relative who has has ongoing urinary issues the past few months. She's had urine infections come up with a few urine tests. Now two of the recent tests showed no infection(this included further lab testing), but the results show blood in the urine. She also had a kideny CT scan that came up normal. She now has to take a scope tests to look inside her bladder area. I'm worried now that this can indicate she has a tumor causing this bleeding since they couldn't find any infections or stones as the cause. What are some causes of blood showing up in urine? Does indicate a tumor?

I also had blood in my urine a few years ago. I had a cat scan of my kidneys which was normal. Next was a scope which was also normal. The urologist said some people just have blood in the urine, sometimes it can be caused by a tiny leak in the kidneys or a thin membrane in the bladder. I don't think they really know what causes it but they do the scope etc. to rule out anything serious. The only follow up I have is to have my blood pressure checked every 6 months. It's not serious and I will always have it. This is by far the most common cause of blood in the urine, of course there are other less common causes like bladder stones, bladder cysts, or tumours. My Doc assured me before the scope the chances of it being serious were about 3%. All the best.
