the symptom,s of an actual blood clot in a vessel would be swelling, heat, possibly a redness over the area, not 'just" and ache. it could be many different possibilities that is creating your particular pain. i had the very same thing occur two years ago. all i had too was just this constant pain and dull ache going on. it wasn't til my primary simply referred me for an ultrasound on those leg vessles that we knew for certain i had absolutley no reason to qorry about nay type of blood clot. i would really get the US with the doppler tool they have? this just goes over the vessels to check for ANY possible plaque or any type of possible clot that could be impeding blood flow there. very simple test and very accurate. takes about maybe fifteen minutes and you know right away. if you are really concerned about a possible clot, that US doppler is the best test to really know for certain. it did ease my mind just having this done. tho from what you described it doesn't sound like a blood clot, better safe than sorry,ya know? good luck and please klet me know just what you find out,K?
