Blogs in the Media?

I am participating in a debate this Monday about the negative influence of blogs on the media. I'm interested to hear what you think about blogs, and any factual sources (I.e. websites, articles) that support this idea would be great! At the moment, my best argument is that blogs and bloggers aren't held accountable to anyone and therefore don't always have accuracy. Also, they allow for conspiracy theories and such to be taken as fact, and many bloggers aren't credible journalists or politicians, yet their positions are taken seriously. Finally, blogs negatively affect discourse b/c internet users could simply focus on their perspectives and find blogs that agree with them rather than be exposed to opposing perspectives.

Any help would be appreciated!
