Blog Talkback: Looking Back: Robotomy

There isn't much for me to say because I pretty much agree with everything chdr said. I really wish we could've seen another season. I want to see what they really could've done with the series.

While I never was a big on Robotomy, I thought it did deserve a fighting chance to get a Season 2. Maybe then I would have liked to have seen more focus on the other characters.

But, like chdr pointed out, there were many factors against it. I'm still a little bugged out by the fact that the international market can affect on whenever a show gets to live or not. I still wonder what about Robotomy had little international appeal?

They really shouldn't have worried about establishing the world for the entire first season. I'd introduce the 2ndary characters in the very first 2 episodes, then build on them and that later ones. But most importantly I'd make sure that the main characters are worth watching to begin with.

I did like the art style in this though, it was pretty good. But I must confess that initially I thought this series was taking bits from the webcomic Bottropolis.

The idea of a world with nothing but robots is an old but interesting one, but its a waste when you turn around and stick them into a high school since we already have enough sitcoms about high schools. If anything this series concept reminds me of Aaahh!! Real Monsters (though that show did school stuff well, because it wasn't just in a school).

Nah, Robotomy didn't deserve to be canceled. They let this go but let crap like TDWhatever go on. CN is just killing thereselves.

Total Drama gets killer ratings, plus it has the added benefit of CN not having to sink a lot of money into producing it since it comes from Canada.
