I've always found it a bit strange that during the 80's, so many action-driven boys cartoons featured moral segments, but hardly any of the... err... "eating cake and singing about rainbows"-driven girls cartoons did. But after reading that article, it all makes sense; it was mostly just the violent cartoons that needed to a preachy "todays lesson" segment as compensation.
On another note, i wonder if todays kids would even get the kind of parodys of moral segments that 90's cartoons used to have, since it has now been so long since actuall moral segment existed in cartoons...
