Blog Talkback: Cartoon Universe: Something Old, Something New, Something Ruby, Something Supes

The writer of the article could have specified Ilya and Alexander Salkind for readers who do not know them and may want to know more about them.

To avoid the overuse of the word “apparently”, I would have written, “appear to be permanently stuck at age 65”. Many reporters, news presenters, and writers seem to have a habit of using the word "apparently" when stating something that appears obvious to them, but may not necessarily be true.

These are just a few suggestions for what is all ready a good article.

Yeah, I should have thrown in a link to a Wiki entry on those two, because they're an important part of Superman's history, like it or not. I also should have thrown in a link to Cannon films as well.

So for those who read the article and want to Read More About It, I suggest these articles from your public internet:

Alexander Salkind
Ilya Salkind (has a better history of the Salkinds and the Superman films)
Cannon Films(awesome unofficial history of this unexpectedly huge company)

And that does seem to be a better wording for that. Thanks!

I did need to note that because that really bugged me. I mean, the opening sequence shows Ma and Pa Kent discovering baby Kal-El, and they're already in their 60s. They're still in their 60s when Clark heads off to Metropolis! Was it *that* hard to modify the character designs even slightly?
