So, you're a man, you ask a question, you ask it using really asinine language...it makes you sound like you should have a nickname like "slick willy" or "rico" (no offense to any willy's or rico's who may be reading this)--like you are the absolute ultimate in machismo and have only the best mattress moves...think Andrew Dice Clay here, without the humor. Okay, I get that, there are a lot of women who feel and act the same way.
You are a woman who answers the question. You indicate that the terms the asker uses, and how his word choice might have some bearing on the type of woman he is attracting (in his opinion, the wrong kind, that is his chief complaint in the quesiton). You state that for all any one knows, he may be a great guy, but what comes out of his mouth negates that. Not a particularly rude answer, no hate. Then this guy emails you spewing the most vile filth, blocks you and disallows email.
I think this is hysterical, and only goes to prove the woman's point of this guy being crude and egocentric. I know this has happened to others, and that in general this topic has been done to death, but does this sort of 'blitz blocking' have a negative or positive effect upon a certain type of man's self confidence or his self image?
Please know I am not lumping all men into this category...there are relatively few here that fit this description, and I am not a rabid feminist...I am genuinely interested in the psychology of this behavior.
Yeah Harry I know, it's wordy, but essentailly this--what do men, or rather people in general, gain from this sort of behavior? ZIs it the immature thrill of pissing someone off, or something else?
Murph--there are many reasons I adore you!
Gazz--I know, I shame even myself with this tripe, but I'm freaking bored....and I haven't seen you setting the place ablaze tonight...if you won't entertain me, I'm left to my own devices.....
HARRY: HERE IT IS-----
"...does this sort of 'blitz blocking' have a negative or positive effect upon a certain type of man's self confidence or his self image?"
I know it was a long set up but jeez...
