Bleach spirit cycle question?

You know how when a human dies in bleach they just get turned into a plus and then later go to soul soceity. Suppose ichigo died would he just go to the soul soceity? Would it make a difference if he was in shinigami form? Also, you know how when a hollow dies by the hands of a shinigami they also go the soul soceity? Would this apply to an arancar?
