Blade of the Immortal is an absolutely fantastic manga--pretty much great in every aspect. I was excited when I first heard about the anime airing this summer..However, Studio Bee Train is animating it, with a really crappy director. So now I am going to ***** a lot and be pessimistic, unless they seriously pull off a miracle and don't ruin the pure manga.

I was immediately turned off when I learned Studio Bee managed to somehow pick this up. I hope in some bizarro universe, where crocodiles are sweet and innocent, that this somehow is watchable.

Charlie! Be our Studio Bee Train scapegoat!

And watching anime over a superior manga is one of the seven unrelated but lethal sins.

I will bear the sin of checking out episode 1 on July 14th, when it airs. I might cry when the anime adaptation gets raped. Seriously.

Studio Bee Train....God, they suck. If they screw Blade of the Immortal, I will probably...do nothing about it. But cry. Then eat some chocolate. And get somebody to comfort me and tell me that it will be all right.

I pin the chances of this being legitimately good at, say, 25%. Shitty director + shitty studio probably doesn't deserve those odRAB.

Why does everything I like end up getting picked up by Studio Bee Train and systematically screwed over?

Oh, on a positive note, the music director for this series has actually composed some good stuff for other anime including Gundam Wing, Haibane Renmei, Popolocrois Monogatari and a bunch of other series. The PV for the anime has been out for a while, here it is:

I finished Gotham Knight last night and Bee train had a segment of that movie. The action was done pretty well so I'm not too worried about this.

I think that may have to do with the fact that Hiroshi Morioka was the director for it. Koichi Mashimo is the one directing Blade of the Immortal. He has directed practically every anime that Bee Train has produced and is known, renowned, and despised for his utterly slow pacing and sometimes boring style. He seems only know how to direct one way so I doubt this anime would prove any different.

It begins airing on July 13th at 24:00, Japan time, (which means midnight going from Sunday to Monday) otherwise 11:00 AM, Eastern Standard Time. So basically, it's already aired.

what has the world come too when dark horse lets studio bee train touch their crap if the anime doesnt do the anime justice ima kill somethin

Okay, I watched the RAW.

Ready for my thoughts on the first episode?

Cons:
--The music is absolutely terrible. I'm considering completely turning off the volume in future episodes. Since it's subtitled, it won't hurt. At least I won't have to listen to that crappy background noise.
--They used stills in this episode. Seriously, it's episode #1, which are usually the best animated in most productions..Yet, they already are too lazy/broke to animate parts? WTF!?!?
--Not a fan of some of the VA's working on this production.
--The rest of the episode was fine--not spectacular, however, watchable.
Pros:
--it could of been worse
