Blackberry on boost-mobile, how good is it?

How good is the blackberry on boost-mobile because my mom had a boost before and we didn't receive the messages for like days and it was just horrible because i love texting,who doesn't right lol.
does this open the messages fast or is it like the rest? any personal experiences?
