blackberry messenger application is not working?

i've been using bbm perfectly the whole morning and afternoon but a couple of hours ago i tried to open it and it wont. i receive and reply okay but i cant open the application, let alone compose one. to read bbm messages and reply i have to go to the messages applications and there i will read it, but the bbm app wont open.
i am currently connected in msn messenger and i am receiving and replying bbs, so internet connection is not a problem
