Once the official version of 5.0 was released I upgraded to it. I have an 8320 and it didn't get along with my bb. I already have a memory leak 5.0 worsened it. I had to switch back to the original.
 
Before you do this be sure to back up your contacts (bbm contacts) Write them down tell your friend to memorize it ...dunno which would work best but you definitely need to do this. I would advise you to write them down. Okay, just like any other application what you would do is go to options-advanced options-applications-located bbm 5.0- delete-reboot. Plug your phone (be sure to have the device software installed on your pc and connect it. Once you connect it it should prompt you (desktop manager) go to load applications-check bbm-and add-follow prompts-it should reboot and wham you're good to go
 
Delete bbm off your phone,then plug your blackberry to your computer and open up DM. Click on Application loader,then click on Add/remome Apps. DM should see you don't have bbm and click finish. Dm should reinstall the old bbm. Hope this helps.
