Blackberry Curve, Signal and Power problem!?

Hi, my mum has a blackberry curve on the orange network and woke up this morning with no signal. After waiting a couple of hours, and checking that other phones on the orange network were working. She took the battery out and put it back in. However now that she has put the battery back in (correctly) the phone is not switching on. PLEASE HELP
