Blackberry curve or Motorola Backflip?

So I am planning on getting a phone soon, and I can't decide between these two phones. They are so different I know. I am 16, but at the same time I will just be using the phone for windows live messenger, texting, and calling. I don't use facebook or twitter, so that is why perhaps the curve would be better for me. Anyways let me know which you think would be better for me.

from what I read of reviews the Motorola Backflip seemed disappointing; the fact that it's all on one screen seemed to be it's only saving grace
I love Blackberry's (though I don't own one anymore), and even if you want facebook and twitter there are apps you can get for that, plus the keyboard is easy to text one
hope this helps

I don't like the backflip. I think it's a lousy design, it's slow, and more subject to malfunction. Blackberries in general are well made, and there's a lot more you can do to maintain them. That is, it's more often possible to fix them yourself. Both phones require a data plan.
