BlackBerry 8900 photo import iPhoto Problem?

i have imported the photos off of my Micro SD card in my BB 8900 into iPhoto. it has imported most of the photos (there are about 30 of them), but it says that 17 of them cannot be imported as they are in an unrecognised format when they are all in the same format. what is the problem. how can i fix this?

N.B. it is not to do with settings being changed as i took 3 consecutive photos and only 2 were imported and the other was not recognised.
