Black spandex dancing shorts?

i just bought my first pair and they are the bloch brand. i bought it in a size medium. i am usually a size medium in regular shorts so thats why i picked these out. i expected them to be tight, and they fit fine everywhere else besdies my hips. although im average weight, there is almost some of my fat i guess you could call it sticking out at the top. i thought that because tights do this, it was ok for the shorts to do it too, but is this the right fit? i wear a large in tights cause im 5'6 and around 133 lbs. advice???? should i get a large and risk it not fitting everywhere else?
 
Believe me your fine. Spandex is tight and stretchy, so there's going to be some fat sticking out. Everyone has it, unless you have virtually no fat.
