what would life have been like near the black sea 10,000 years ago?
(or russia)
what were the houses like and how 'modern' was everything. as in-what it primitive or like, did they have okay houses and nice clothes?

thanks

The black sea was much smaller ten thousand years ago. This would have been in prehistoric times when humans in the area were probably on a par with native Americans. As the last ice age was coming to an end, the levels of the oceans, including the Mediterranean rose, and at some point there was a catastrophic flood that drowned many of the settlements in the basin where the Black Sea currently sits. The remains of settlements now underwater have been found and are being studied. It is thought that perhaps the flood described in Genesis had its basis in this event.

First of all the map wouldn't look at all like it does now due to fluctuations in ocean levels during Ice Ages and other natural changes. The people living in that area would have been small groups of hunter/gatherers who barely eked out an existence. Homes would have likely been caves, poorly constructed thatch huts with mud, at best. You would not have liked it at all.
Animal skins for clothes. This was primitive life.

It was probably an inland, fresh water sea. The Bosporus probably did not connect with the Mediterranean. Recent exploration indicates a much lower water level. The Black Sea probably filled up with saline water after a break in the land bridge from Asia to Europe.
