black jack or blackberry

I'm having a difficult time deciding whether to get the blackjack or the blackberry 8800 or the bb pearl.

Things I was considering include windows pda system and bb from other users Edge vs 3g, internet browsing, gps, messaging, media playing.

I was also wondering which one would give me the most bang for the buck.

Thanks for all the input!!

It really depends on how you plan to use it and what features you need.

The Blackjack is Windows Mobile and prone to random reboots. The Pearl and 8800 are BBs and rock solid/bullet proof. The Pearl uses SureType which takes some getting used to and the Blackjack and 8800 have QWERTY keypads, better perhaps if you type a lot of email and text messages.

The 8800 has GPS built in. You will need a BT GPS puck and a mapping application for the other 2 - i.e. Google Maps.

Speed is actually not a big difference IMHO. Speed doesn't affect email delivery that much, only surfing. And it is really dependent on the connection, the processor and available memory. Only the Blackjack has 3g and it is somewhat faster, but then battery life is pretty bad especially in the 3G fringe areas.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm pretty flexible between the suretype and the qwerty keypads.
I'm kind of leaning towards the 8800 simply because of the built in GPS but hear that the blackjack would cost the same as the 8800 if instal GSP programs.

what kind of further options and flexibilities dow a window system provide over a bb?

I am a BB person so I can't really answer that one. Used a Blackjack for about a month but gave up due to the random reboots and battery issues.

i have owned a blackjack for almost 2 months. and have not had a problem with my phone freezing or rebooting. i believe the blackjack is faster and has more capability but is for the person that likes to play around and add software. I you want a powerful email phone with good battery life get a blackberry
