A black hole is still an object, nevertheless, but just with a gravitational pull so great that nothing can escape it. A white dwarf (I believe it's a white dwarf, doesn't matter, some form of a dead star) also has a an extremely high gravitational pull; and is said that if you drop a marshmallow on a white dwarf the gravitational pull will pull it towards it so fast the impact will make a nuclear explosion (or equivalent to that).
Now that I've established those two thing's this is my question. If a black hole is a object, and pull's something towards it they have to come into contact right? I've heard that the black hole make's thing's incredibly small when approaching it, but the distance between them is the same, and gravity is pulling it towards it at a constant rate so why don't they come into contact?
Wouldn't the force between the two objects be greate than a nuclear war head, maybe equivalent to a super nova, thus destroying the blockhole itself?
Also I've heard of those thing's (sorry I don't know what they're called), but it's said to be a black hole and jets of energy are being ejected from both ends (Ya that thing); but not even light can escape the gravitational pull of a black hole, so how is the energy (and light supposedly) escaping?
Please don't respond by just saying "look it up", or "do your research and come back". I want your genuine assumptions. 10pt to those how try and answer these questions logically. Thanks.
