bit time T3 trouble

I have had about 5 diff palm devices and never had this happen...here's the situation.

I have a T3 and have been using it with no problems since April. Yesterday I purchased the Palm wireless keyboard; and proceeded to install the drivers via a IR hotsync (I was at home, cradle at work) Anyway, it seemed to install fine, then as it was going through the rest of the hotsync process, it lost the connection. The T3 restarted, as I thought it would, after the driver install. I pressed the keyboard icon on the home page and slowly my screen began to disappear! It took about 10 seconds, and all I was left with was a white screen! I tried soft reset, hard reset...no good. So I figured the battery would drain overnight and then I would put it back on the cradle at work and see what happens. This morning, i put in onthe cradle and NOTHING! No green charging light...the screen is now black (but it's still on) My PC says the USB connected has malfunctioned and to re-seat it. I have done all that as well as every sort of reset I know...but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks Jim, I have done all the various resets. I have a T3. The driver I installed was for the Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard. I can't find a driver #...where would I get that? I installed the 2 additional files required for the T3 (all in teh same hotsync)

I've never seen anything like this before. It seems the battery would be dead by now, but the screen is still on (although it's only a black screen) It's like it just went "Poof!" and died :-)

Any other insights?

Ok, so if you attempt a hard reset.....holding down the power button while hitting the reset button are you getting the screen that requests you hit the up button?

If not...it's dead beyond repair in my humble opinion because the hard reset is a total reboot and then request for confirmation before it "loads" anything else.

So my question is if your not getting this "hit the up button" screen then you may not be performing the hard reset correctly or as mentioned it's dead so lets review:

Hard reset - hold down the power button then using the stylus tap the reset button. You should then release the reset button and the screen should show a request of Hit the up button.....I'd do the hard reset option and then hotsync to restore to before the issue. Then load the keyboard driver seperate from the two "required" T3 apps which I assume to appslip and the rotate prc's......these are designed to be loaded together but not with anything else because one of them forces a soft reset.

The IR keyboard driver was designed only for OS5 devices so the driver should be ok but download the latest version from the PalmOne website rather than trusting the CD that came with the keyboard. The latest driver will work for all PalmOne keyboards - period.

JohnKes-

Thanks! So weird...when I did a google search for this problem, I never ran across that site. I appreciate the info. I figured out how to get it back without disconnecting the battery as some have stated...just waited 24 hours for it to die on it's own. It's currently charging, but I"m still unclear how to proceed from there.
