I watched this film yesterday. Can someone please help me out! I am not sure I got the end of it, was it her husband or not, did I miss something!

no, the kid got all the info from the box that the husband's mistress buried earlier in the film - you mustnt have being paying attention! the box contained love letters from the mistress which the kid read in order to know about the husband. dont worry, the film was crap anyway!

No I saw that bit but wondered if there was more to it, he obviously believed he was Sean, and then the scenes at the end with her at the wedding???

Yes I did think it was crap and also uncomfortable to watch, the scene with them in the bath

There's not more to it. The whole thing ruins her life though (well sort of), as it makes her realise that she can't/wouldn't let go of Shaun. Hence her reaction at the wedding.

Terrible film tbh.

the film cheats the viewer out of not only what they expected (a supernatural film etc) but out of a decent ending. it kind of painted itself into a corner as it didnt want to be predictable but the only alternative was to be a 'hoax'. the film's theme is actually 'death' and coping with it and how this woman falls apart.

but there was no explanation as to why the boy did it!

I thought that there was supposed to be something else to it, I was looking for something that wasn't there.

Paid 3.75 on box office to watch it, I feel cheated

I watched this film last night on Sky and I'll admit that it wasn't what I was expecting, but I didn't think it was terrible. I thought that it was very well directed and the silence in it was just chilling! It was never meant to be a Supernatural film - it's just meant to make the viewer question the boy.

The ending was strange, but I thought Nicole showed the fact that she would never be able to let go of her dead husband very well and portrayed the fact that all she wanted was her dead husband, no matter what form he was in (ie.incarnation), beautifully.

As for this whole thing about them being in the bath togther - I feel people are taking this way too far - nothing ever happens between her and the kid - she says they're going to have to wait until he's 21!! People read to much into these things nowadays. That whole scene is meant to show how all she wants is her dead husband.

This is the worst film I have ever had the misforune to watch. As I was watching it, I was thinking "I really shoudn't be watching this" But you know how it is: you see a car crash, people are hurt, but you hang around to watch the events unfold. The bath scene  ; the bit where she more or less abducts the boy  ; the most tacky sex scene I have ever seen (where she's still thinking about the boy!) all made uncomfortable viewing for me. I couldn't believe Nichole Kidman starred in a film like this, considering how brilliant she was in The others - an excellent film.

And no, the boy was lying...

I really like this movie. From what I gather, one either likes it or doesn't. Not too much a middle ground. Sort of like "The Hours", some hated it, some loved it.
