I started having stomach problems when I was 20 years old and now im 26. They were bad when I was younger so I had an endoscopy done and they found acid reflux. Now about 3 months ago it started flaring up because I was nervous and anxious about somethings in my life. I started seeing a digestive specialist and he did an endoscopy again and took a biopsy. My symptoms are burning in my stomach all the time. I just started getting hot flashes and sometimes cold. and just nausea all day. They put me on protonix and it seems to not be helping. I just am sick of feeling like this and am wondering why they took a biopsy of my stomach. Also sometimes after I eat I have to run to the bathroom not to throw up though. Anyone else having these problems? Im MISERABLE! :(

Believe it or not you might be having side effects from the drug. I'm not saying that's the case, but it is possible. When they did the biopsy on my stomache it hurt all that day. Also it might be your nerves because they are related to your stomache.

I had the same procedure only they biopsied my esophagus and stomach.
Turns out I have gastritis and esphoagitis. Also Barretts. (Non dysplasia)
Anyway, it's a normal procedure don't worry. I just wish that I could find something that works for my chest pain related to GERRAB. I've tried nexium, prilosec, and now Zegerid. None are working. Good luck to you.
