1. the cell wall. It's made of cellulose that give the cell structure and rigidness.

2. Osmosis, diffusion is random movement of particles. THe concentration of salt outside the onion cell was greater than the concentration in the onion cell. if you want to sound clever say it's a hypotonic solution. The onion cell equalises the concentration levels of the salt by taking in water through it's membrane. (osmosis was the right answer)
Please ask me for anymore help.

i have 2 questions, can anybody help plz.

1-What cellular organelle present in onion cells, but not blood cells, prevented the leaf cells from shriveling or exploding?!!!

2- the process that occurred to the onion cells in salt solution was an example of diffusion/osmosis... can you explain your answer.

Thank you guys 4 ur help :)
